I met my nan when I was 5, she was one of my mums boyfriends mothers and from the start we clicked,
I remember the first time i met her my mums ex woke me up and brought me downstairs and it han't
long been my 5th birthday and she had a barbie for me and i sat on her knee while she introduced me
to her and told me all about herself, i then started the weekend staying which i lvoed, every friday
after school, i remember meeting my gramp i ran cause i thought there was a strange guy in her
house. haha. our bond grew stronger as I grew up then when i was 12 my gramp fel ill with cancer and
died within 6 weeks this broke my nans heart and i carried on going there ever weekend even though
my mum had split with my nans son, we still saw eachtoher religiously! :) my nans son didnt like
this but doesn't matter. As she tried to get over my gramps death it made her ill, she started to
let herself go, not treating her diabities correctly and ended up having chirrosis of the liver and
had a struggle in hospital but eventually went into a coma and passed away on the 11th of december
2008. I will always remember our weekely visits to morrisons for a cooked breakfast or cooked dinner
every sunday and will always remember her love she had for her dog, I know this is not the best
speech someone could give but i don't really know what else to say.
I only knew Elaine for a few months but she was a lovely lady and i could see she cared about her grandaughter, Jody, very much. It was a pleasure knowing her and i'm glad i was around in those last few tough months.
